Parent-Teacher Communication Sheet for Preschoolers
65When a child starts school for the first time, it can be scary for not only the child, but mom and dad too. Having good communication with the child's teacher is crucial. It not only helps ease everyone's anxiety, but can help with potty-training efforts, uncovering developmental disabilities, understanding social and emotional concerns, and discovering skills and talents. For a child with developmental delays or learning disabilities, parent-teacher communication is even more essential, since it is important to coordinate therapy efforts, skill development and behavior shaping.
Some preschool teachers send home a daily progress report, but others do not. When my son started preschool, I created my own. You can use this form below or create your own using this one as an example. To print the form below, right click on the sheet, and select Print Image. Select Scale to Page (or a equivalent option) from your printer settings or preferences.

Thank you for this, its a wonderful idea. I bought a hard cover book that we (teachers and I) use back and fourth for communication. I keep it in my sons school bag so we can always communicate together daily. This works just as well. :-)
This would also be great for daycare, babysitters and even kidergarten with perhaps a few changes. Very useful!
