How to Patch a Hole in Pants the Easy Way

By

Supplies:

  • Iron-on patches
  • Iron on patch sheet
  • Iron
  • Ironing board
  • Scissors
  • parchment paper or cardboard

  1. Heat the iron on the setting appropriate for your pants material (I don't recommend patching fine fabrics) making sure that the steam setting is off.

  2. Turn the pants inside out.

  3. Cut the patch sheet so there is a section that is about one inch bigger than the hole on all sides.

  4. Place parchment paper or cardboard inside the leg of the pants under the area where the hole is.

  5. Center the patch section over the hole and iron on following the directions on the package.

  6. After the patch is cool, turn the pants right-side in.

  7. Use a decorative patch that can completely cover the entire hole and iron over the whole following the package instructions.

If your patch should start to fall off after being washed, just iron over it again or use a few drops of Fabric Fusion or other fabric adhesive.

I want to know how to sew up a hole on sheets. They are still really good sheets, but when I smoked I burnt holes in a couple of them. Do I do it with a light bulb like I have read before? I don't want to put a patch on them. I want to sew them.

Get new sheets. Stop smoking.
